The Web and Game Development program gives students a jumpstart on college, by building a foundational understanding of programming logic and design principles.
The program consists of one year of Web Development and one year of Game Development.
Web Development
During the Web Development course, students gain experience with interface design, form creation, and web coding using the latest industry-standard design software. They evaluate existing web sites, learn programming syntax, and create their own sites using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript. Foundational skills of web development are covered, including: navigation, links, images, graphics, styling, and responsive web design.
Game Development
The Game Development course introduces students to the elements of game creation and common game programming languages. Students learn game history, pre-production strategies, and incorporate game theory into the development of their own non-digital and digital games. They work with game design applications such as Unity and GameMaker. Developing games for mobile platforms using Swift is also covered.
